Carrier Express
Story
The game takes place in a parallel world of ours where machines play games to relax themselves and we humans must tend to their in-game desires. You are part of a city builder game. Your character is one of those jolly little carrier npc’s everybody totally loves because they are always to slow.
Tutorial
When starting a new game, you will find a brand-new material depo in front of you. Driving into it will put the above displayed resource into your inventory.
Shortly after starting the game the player connects and starts developing his world. He will start placing roads and construction sites (indicated by grayed out houses). Your job is it to deliver resources from the material depos to the many construction sites on the map. But beware you are NOT the player so the camera will not follow you.
Completing a construction rewards you one skill point and some score points. In contrast, failing to complete a building in the given timeframe (indicated by the reversed progress bar above the construction site) will deduct one live point of your total live points displayed above the skill section on the right of your UI.
To better your chances, of completing the endless barrage of deliveries the player forces on you, there are skills you can upgrade. The upgrades are displayed on the left of your UI beneath your lives. There are 3 kinds:
- Speed: increases the speed of your truck
- Carry Capacity: increases how many resources you can carry at once
- Build Time: increases the time you have before the construction sites deteriorate resulting in you not getting any score or further Skill points
The goal of the game is to satisfy the construction needs of the player and gather as many score points as possible. The game ends when the player logs off (totally not a bug that can happen) or your performance is not good enough for the player and he fires you. This is the case when your lives drop to zero.
